We last looked at Call of Duty: Black Ops' and GoldenEye 007's game-play hours from the data reported on November 29. You can read the report, HERE, in which I compared both games' debut game-play hours, and showed which game had a higher play-time after the first 21 days each released.
Do the reported game-play hours for Call of Duty: Black Ops and GoldenEye 007 from November 29, 2010 to December 20, 2010, appear to show one of these Wii FPS games is clearly pulling ahead of the other? Let's take a look!

Filtered Thoughts:
I think it will be interesting to see if one, or both, of these games get a significant increase in players reporting game-play hours in the next 2 weeks. I really wonder how many copies of GoldenEye 007, and Call of Duty: Black Ops are sitting under Christmas trees as I'm typing this, waiting to be opened in a few short hours.
I would say based on the game-play hours reported so far before Christmas, Call of Duty: Black Ops will continue to be the "most played" Wii FPS game released in 2010. It may not have the most number of players reporting data, but Black Ops players are clearly playing it more often and for longer periods of time according to the reported data, than GoldenEye 007 players.
I'll be watching them both in the coming weeks, but I hope all of you have a merry Christmas, and get to spend time with friends and family...perhaps even drinking some coffee and playing video games with them!
Question:
Are any of you expecting to get, or did any of you already get, either Call of Duty: Black Ops or GoldenEye 007 for Christmas this year?
If any of you do get GoldenEye 007, and you plan on playing the game's online multi-player, please add my friend code to your list: 2043-7355-3797
If you have Christmas money to spend, and are interested in Call of Duty: Black Ops or GoldenEye 007, you can see prices for both on Amazon.com linked below:
Ha ha. I'll add a few hours to this tonight for sure!
ReplyDeleteAlso some DKCR...
Hmm. Which to pop in first. Gotta pry Tri outta there, though, that's for sure.
Merry Christmas Mr. Coffeewithgames!
ReplyDeleteI don't really have too much interest in either game. There's too many good FPS I haven't played and with the awesome Steam sale and the humble indie bundle I'm getting a few presents and spending too much money on too many cheap games already. Right now I'm playing Darksiders and Super Meat Boy which I both love so very much. Also got the downloadable Lara Croft game on Steam to play together with my friend, as it is a fantastic co-op game. Then there's all the other games I have lined up and more deals I can't resist to come for sure.
I surprisingly did get a DS game for christmas from my dad, which is Age of Empires:Mythologies, which he chose himself. I have to admit it was a bit of a shock first as I knew nothing about it, but it seems to be a good game, albeit the presentation isn't as good as it could be.
So anyway, I have to say that after finishing Epic Mickey my Wii will probably stay rather unused for a while as I concentrate on the other games on my PC for now. Maybe I'll get Goldeneye down the line at some point, but if I do it's really just for single player, as my only FPS multiplayer time is in games like Left 4 Dead 2. Not too big on random MP matches really.
Again I wish you a merry christmas and hope you have the best time with coffee, games and all! I'll be off for an xmas visit including coffee now!
Haven't played Black Ops, but GoldenEye is terrific and deserves all the numbers it gets.
ReplyDeletePlaying through GoldenEye single player at the moment, it rocks and totally beats out Black Ops single player.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Black Ops online multiplayer is still the best on the Wii, for me anyways.
@Chuckpebble:
ReplyDeleteI'll be adding some hours to DKCR also in the next few weeks, and if you start playing GoldenEye online, let me know what your friend code is and I'll add your code to my list.
@gLitterbug:
Thanks for the well wishes! I hope you enjoy the games you are currently playing, and if you enjoyed GoldenEye the movie, just think of the game as an updated version of the movie...and you'll probably enjoy it.

@Anonymous from December 26, 2010:
I haven't played Black Ops on the Wii, but I really would like to try the online, just to see how well it runs compared to other Wii FPS games like GoldenEye.
What difficulty setting are you playing GoldenEye on right now?
Thank you all very much for the comments and feedback!
Intresting - shame us gamers in the UK and I guess Europe aswell, cannot share our Black Ops stats on the Nintendo Channel, otherwise those figures would be bigger! We couldn't share Reflex stats either, but we could for World at War. Why is it that some games are excluded?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous from December 30, 2010:
ReplyDeleteThat is interesting that UK and European gamers can't report/share your game-play hours...I know there are some Wii gamers that take a long time to show up on the Nintendo Channel, due to either NIntendo not uploading the games, or just because they don't reach the 50K Total Hours it takes to debut.
Thanks for the feedback!
