Thoughts/Questions:
This past Tuesday, April 20, an Activision employee reconfirmed, that Activision will be releasing three new Call of Duty games in the next two years.(You can follow the discussion here: http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=174058223611&topic=14085)
Do you think the Wii will get all three of the Call of Duty games being developed? Do you think the Wii will only get the Call of Duty game that Treyarch is developing? Or, do you think the Wii won't get any of the three Call of Duty games that are in development?
I think Wii owners will get the next Call of Duty game Treyarch is developing, and perhaps even the next Call of Duty game being developed by Infinity Ward. I am not sure about the action/adventure Call of Duty game though.
If you are interested in The Conduit and/or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex, you can see new and used prices for both games on Amazon.com below:
I dont know but I really hope we get them all on the Wii. The Nintendo Wii is the only system I have and all i Play is Modern Warfare Reflex on it. I love it and I want to play Modern Warfare 2 already. I really hope Treyarch's Call of duty comes to wii and that we get a port of Modern Warfare 2.(I dont thinks its one of the 2 though)
ReplyDeleteThe 3 games are Treyarchs COD, the action/adventure game, and possibly Modern Warfare 3 ( may be too soon but if it isn't it might be a modern warfare 2 wii port!) I want them all on wii and i will buy them all. I just hope atleast one of them comes to the wii.

ReplyDeleteYea, Treyarch seems to have come really far with developing the COD games on the Wii.
First it was COD3, then COD:WaW with online play, and then COD:MWR with customizable controls.
I'm hoping the next one will be Wii Speak compatible as well, and I think it will be.
Thanks for the comment and keep enjoying MWR!
I see no reason why the Treyarch games would not come to the Wii. COD3 came to the Wii, WAW came to the Wii and both did quite well. Treyarch have proven to be a competent developer, to have a good grasp of the Wii, and from all reviews of Modern Warfare Reflex, have formulated a way to drastically minimize the dropoff between 360 and Wii versions of their games.
ReplyDeleteMaking that assumption, the question becomes what will Activision do with the 2011 iteration likely to come from the remnants of IW. Their choice would be to make a HD exclusive iteration, while finally putting out MWR2 for Wii, or skip MW2 on Wii altogether and sync all platforms for release.
As for the TPS game, so little is known I don't think you can make an asumption yet. But in general, with IW basically out of the picture, I could see more COD games ported to Wii day and date. Here is the real x-factor.....WiiHD/Wii2/Zii or whatever you want to call it. Right now, I predict holdiay 2011 for release of the next Big N console (especailly with the rumour of 3DS hitting shelves in Oct). If that is the case, it might make sense to ignore MW2 on the Nintendo console all together, instead focusing on the new 2011 FPS and TPS being released on a more equitable footing for all consoles.
@delawaregamer:
ReplyDeleteTonight(Friday), we should get a glimpse at the next Treyarch Call of Duty game.
I wonder if/when Activision will release COD:MW2 on the Wii. I think that a summer release for it, would be interesting. If they released it this summer, in July, they could announce it at E3.
Then, they could still release the next COD, presumably Vietnam, in November as well.
November of 2011 would be 5 years after the Wii's release, so I think it would make some sense. Though, Nintendo is making a lot of money right now off the Wii at $200, and they're just now starting to bundle it with other games(Wii Sports Resort).
I wonder if Nintendo would try to do like Sony, and sell the Wii, and perhaps a WiiHD side-by-side, of if Nintendo will do fire-sells and clear the Wii out and only concentrate on one main console.
Either way, I think it's going to be an interesting year, and I hope E3 is full of many surprises!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
